Isadore Charters , Yun a mo ceetza, bom at Upper Nicola Valley
Merritt BC. I have been living in Sto:lo territory for over
30 years and well aware of the history and culture of this nation.
I graduated in fine arts from Fraser Valley College 1985. Completed
Native Instructor Program also Provincial Program. Health isimportant
to me. I still do sweat lodges, jog, teach native art, draw,
paint, and I attend Sto:lo Christian Fellowship Church.
We need a place to gather indicated by the totem pole, longhouse,
museum, cultural place, and under ground dwelling displayed
in red, red earth.Healing is crucial depicted in four sacred
colors of black, white, yellow and red fish. Fish stand for
food, tradition, and social well-being. The blue eagle and sphere
speak of strength and unity in our community. Blue water and
sky reaches out to all four comers of earth and connections.
The eagle eye is vacant, not to judge but to see equality in
our fellow man. The red stone in the eagle mouth is to speak
with kindness and truth, our children are watching, listening
and following in the tracks we leave. As the smoke ascends we
give thanks for all that we have. The yellow sun our Creator
that gives life and the most important gift love. Love prevails
over all.
